To Be Sat On.

Couches are for sitting on.
And other things.
Just like words.
Words are meant to be sat on,
to be mulled over, and chewed.
Words are meant to stick with you.
Words are meant to haunt you.
Words are meant to
follow you around
push you out the nest
inspire unto greater heights and newer adventures
and make your soul feel fuller and emptier than you ever thought possible.

"It was one of those moments of perfect tiredness,
of having conquered not only the work at hand,
but the night who had blocked the way."

"Burning words were torn from their sentences."

"He had eaten only the foul taste of his own hungry breath for what felt like weeks,
and still,

"The window was opened wide, a square cool mouth, with occasional gusty surges."

"I've seen so many young men
over the years who think they're
running at other young men.
They are not.
They're running at me."
I love the way Markus Zusak writes. I can't wait to finish his book.
His words fit all the criteria.
So I'm reading slowly.
And sitting.
Because his words are meant to be sat on.

  1. Haha, I love that idea... "to be sat on." Have you read Ann Voskamp's "1,000 Gifts"? I definitely sat on that book for a good four months. It was an incredible book.

    1. I haven't, Lacey! I should though, I've heard it's good!
